A Memoir

The journey for my dad making 35 years of sobriety. He had 6 brothers all who passed from either alcohol poisoning or liver problems. And, we should not forget the trials of the wife, keeping the family together and who then was diagnosed with dementia at age 93. This began my journey to care for her in my home for almost 7 years. She would say ‘why do you call me mother!’

“I have been married 57 years and have a BA degree in business and psychology. I was a Corporate Sales Manager with Motorola Semiconductor and I owned my own business called ‘Eclectics’, but eventually closed the business to care for my mother with dementia.”
